Hwang and Yo I think, for the case of Ms. Yoon, that it might be a common writing by a reporter. For example, I think that she graduated with a summa cum laude that is considered as the highest honor in many schools. To quote her as the top graduate from the university might be wrong, but still summa cum laude is the top honor. It is quite conventional to quote that as the top graduate by korean reporters. UMass, Amherst is a respectable school. If it's true for that Samsung Electronics guy, it's a shame on him. But, probably, he could have some connection (like a training, or in fact, he got any kind of degree from MIT) with the better known school (which is MIT in this case). Don't get so frustrated with all of these. ----------- *Excellence, the goal we may achieve after the death. *Genius, the perfection we may want to be always. Be extremely ambitious!
