Pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary. You don't have to use advnced vocabulary. If you can think of the work you want to use, come up with another word that make sense. The curcial question in this sention is "how much native speakers can uunderstand you", not "how interesting or sophisticated your story is. A good way to practice for this sectin is tofind a series of pictures and try to amke up stories with them as if you are telling a child a story. Record your story, if possible, and get feed back from an American on pronunciation, fluency, and intonation, and grammar. (This is for those who have time for preparation. If you don't have time, just be yourself, and try to be as natural as possible). In section five, you will see a big picture in the booklet. The picture depicts a certain event. You will be asked four questions about the event such as "Where is this scene taking place?" or "What do you think willl happen next?" Te questions are simple, and so you answer can be simple, too. You will be asked to speak as much as possible, but you don't need to as long as you answer the question. Usually one sentence is enough (at best two sentences). do not make a long sentence (you may make erors). If necessart, try to say two ro three short sentences rather than a long sentence). Like section 3, this section could be easy since you don't have to say much. Make sure you say something even if you misheard a question. Otherwise , you will get a big fat zero. |
