When you talk to a child, you don't have to feel nervious whatever you talk about. The child does not know enough to detect your mistakes or your ignorance. they just listen to you, and accept whatever you say. You don't have to use advanced vocabulary or show off your knowledge. Rather, you feel you need to slow down and use easy words. And more importantly, you feel comfortable. The second strategy is to practice before you take the test. You will be able to get sample questions somewhere, and you can practice with your taperecorder at home. The crucial point os to get use to talking to the machine, which most people feel uncomfortable about. The more practice you have, the more relaxed you will be when taking the teest, which means your English will be better. The test assesses four aspects of your English:pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and comprehensibility. Of these four, the score for the comprehensibility is the most important because it reflects how much native speakers cn understand you. One more thin g. You will be asked to talk as much as possible, and you will be given limited time for each task (usually one minute or so). to be continued in the next segment. |
