The research project which is funded by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada, involves investigation of model based approaches to automotive engine diagnostics and control. The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. with a good publication record. In addition, the candidate should have proven expertise in at least two of the following areas: * Nonlinear and adaptive control/estimation techniques. * Intelligent control and diagnostic (e.g. neural network, fuzzy based, etc.) * Modeling and air fuel ratio control of automotive engines. * Model based techniques for fault detection and isolation (FDI). The initial appointment is for one year, and could be renewed for up to two additional years subject to satisfactory performance and continued funding.
