As far as I know, engines that can produce 100hp/liter are not that common yet, especially in normally aspirated ones. I can think of only few cars with that kind of performance: Honda del Sol VTEC, Ferrari F355, and ...uh...that's all, I think. Even my dream car, Acura NSX makes 270 hp out of 3 liter, which is 90 hp/liter. If turbo engines were counted in, I guess there are numerous examples. But, I do not give much credit to turbo-charged engines since they put too much stress on the heart of a car. Those two cars mentioned above do not have any air-forcing components. By either keeping valves open longer (del Sol VTEC) or opening up more area (F355), air can go into cylinder more freely. So, what the hell is my point? The 100 hp/liter technology is still reserved to exotic cars (del Sol is not really exotic, though). When can we see Korean cars veiwed as driver's car? Acura NSX...simply the BEST... |
