As long as you're fine with your medical check-up, there shouldn't be problem. As for the landing fee, you can pay any time before the visa(landed immigrant status) is actually issued to you. However, you'd better pay the fee when you're requested to do so.(it's refundable anyway). Recently, I've seen many cases that interview is waived for the highly qualified applicants. So, I guess you're considered to be one of the well qualified applicants. Now the Governor General of Canada is Asian woman, who came to Canada as a refugee several decades ago. Even though the position is not given any actual political and administrative authorities, that may imply Asian-Canadians become recognized in the mainstream Canadian society. Isn't it good for us all??? She will be installed tomorrow in Ottawa. |
