The Gen Y'ers came into a world where racial and gender issues are much different from when the traditional leaders of feminism and racial equality started. They are very different starting points, and I don't think it's that easy for the old guards to adapt to this. I think the real challenge for the Gen Y'ers (technically, I am not in that group) is that, as with the Korea in 2002, how many of them will actually turn out for voting. Otherwise, it doesn't make a bit of a difference.
