When an F1 student completes a degree and proceeds to an Employment Authorization Document (the EAD card), that is regarded as a CONTINUATION of the F1 student status. (If you had not applied for OPT upon completion of your degree, then you would either have to leave the US within 30 days or apply to change to another visa status such as J1.) Therefore, the documents you would need to present to the US embassy for your visa will be the EAD and your I-20 endorsed for optional practical training on the back. The offer letter for a job may be used as proof of funding. Your new F1 status end date will be the expiration date of your EAD. 결국 OPT가 있으면 디펜스를 해도 자동적으로 OPT 기간 중 F-1 status로 남아있게 된다는 얘깁니다. 언제 OPT를 신청 하셨는지 몰라도 시작이 2 월이면 잘하면 연말까지 카드를 받으실 수 있을 거 같은데요.
