Actually upon reading your posting I almost believed I can get my SS and medicare taxes back, which, if combined, could easily top $1000. I spent most of last year as a F1 student (practical training)...But after closer examination of Form 519, I concluded that I'm a resident alien for tax purpose because, even though I held a F-1 status, I stayed more than 5 calender years in US so far. :( You seem to be more or less a "tax expert"...Am I really a resident alien (for tax purpose)?
