| [ UIUC ] in KIDS 글 쓴 이(By): guest (a korean) <150.150.56.88> 날 짜 (Date): 1999년 4월 6일 화요일 오후 09시 26분 37초 제 목(Title): [질문] 다음과 같은 편지를 받았을 때.. 오늘 다음과 같은 편지를 받았습니다. 지금껏 연락이 오지 않길래 거절 당한줄 알았는데.. 이런 편지를 받아보니 더 황당합니다. 어떻게 해야 될지 선배님들께서 좀 지도를 해주시면 감사하겠습니다. 참고로 저는 직장 생활을 하다가 유학을 준비했는데, 일년 내지 이년 정도의 생활비밖에 준비할 수 없습니다. 그리고 그 중에도 공식적인 문서(bank statement)로 확인받을 수 있는 자금은 일년 정도의 비용밖에 없습니다. 나머지는 퇴직금과 전세금으로 충당할 예정이거던요. 물론 아직 결혼을 못했구요. 편지 내용은 다음과 같습니다. Dear Mr. Kim; The Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois has reviewed your application for the Ph.D degree program. We commend you on your academic successs. However, we are unable to recommend your admission to the program as indicated below. Because of the nature of international admissions, you must have either your own supoort or be supported by the university in some form. Although your file was reviewed for financial aid from the department we unable to offer you any support. If you are able to certify either personal or sponsor support for a minimum of 5 years for the Ph.D. program we would be happy to recommend your admission for the Fall 1999 term. Please complete the enclosed form and return with the required documentation of support as quickly as possible, but no later than April 15, 1999. If you are able to provide certification of your support then your file will have a final review for academic and financial credentials by the Office of Admissions and Records. If all is in order then that office will provide the necessary I-20 or IAP66 document and provide an official notice of admissions.
