However, I do feel that we are overreacting to the soccer game between Korea and Japan. Some people think it's more than a game but I think it's just a game. If we win, I feel proud. If we lose, I feel bad. But let's not put it higher than where it should be. In the past, government always used these games to divert people's attention. Now, I don't know if this is still going on. But people are still into these games as if winning these games will solve everything. Several weeks ago, I went to the recruit meeting by XX company. The company official in my table was so happy about beating Japan 2-1 the day before. Everyone knew about the win except one student and asked us about what was going on. The company man looked puzzled and criticized him saying "Are you Korean? Are you" Yes, he is. And not knowing about the game doesn't make him any less. |
