But very happy to hear that goverment will reduce the funding, which doesn't have any benefit at all. What lacks in SNU is not funding, not smart students, not nice building. It is replacement of profs and admins who are not competitive. Also, some students that insist that school is not the place only for study should be no more in school. It is ridiculous insisting the minimum requirement of 1.7 is too severe. Funding may be important in some areas, but in most cases, it is being used to buy nice looking LCD monitors everywhere from PC labs to Prof's offices. Or to have fun at nights. The best way is to close the undergraduate courses in SNU. SNU is getting everything, including funding and students. When you are students, you will be satisfied with your status. But, you will realize that this kind of concentration is not good for you neither. Why smart students should be in SNU when SNU profs are not the best? Actually, some SNU profs are very good, but the quality of profs outside seoul is very similar or even better. In Korea, respect to profs has yielded more than sufficient profs or profs candiate. We should exploit as much as possible. Smart students and funds should be assigned to smart and nice profs, not to the name of SNU. |
