Generally Koreans are too passive and dependent. It is easy way of thinking , saying, " Because of America, because of Japan, because of our politicians, everything goes wrong." Then they don't do anything, just blaming others. Yes! it will be very painful to recognize their own faults. Some Koreans expect a great leader or hero. They want him to solve their problems. However there is nothing like miracle that can be accomplished by only one superman. Think of U.S.A. and Japan! What do you think made them strong? Their power comes from the middle class that you, kids' users, may belong. I agree that a HERO can help to organize and encourage the middle class. However, I think that it is faster to find things we can do now individually to be a totally independent country than to wait a HERO, doing nothing valuable. I don't mention solutions like 'Work hard or Be a good man'. What I want is to deal with our social system. We are divided by many ways according to school, university, and region. Was there any change for the past 50 years? Nobody wants to refer to our alumni organizations, partially recognizing that there could be big problems. You know why? Because we should fight against our friends and seniors and we may be in big trouble without their help, we are afraid of it. Almost every corruption has been caused by our alumni organizations, including the notorious ARMY SCHOOL where ex-presidents Park, Chun, and Noh graduated. Now think of the Y.S.-government. Y.S. uses too many KyungNam people, most of whom are from KyungNam-high school - Seoul National University. Y.S may be the HERO for them, but not for the others. We blame Y.S. because he is unfair. But almost everyone is afraid of saying that we should reconsider our alumni organizations which may have been the driving force of corruption, that have the same social character all around our country and that relate all Koreans. The alumni organizations are absolutely for the rich, the power, and the LEARNED in short the have, but not for the poor. The have enjoys the honey of the organizations, blaming politicians. What matters for them is how much they can get. They want to get more money, more power, comparing with their friends, not with the poor. They deceive the poor, pretending that they debate, argue, fight for the poor. What a coward ! What a contradiction ! The poor can not think deeply what make them miserable. They may have the same thoughts with you. Yes, they also blame the corrupted politicians. They should realize that if they begin to reconsider the alumni organizations, they will know what really make them desperate systematically. Please don't take easy way, don't cling to your powerful alumni organizations, then you, the have, may face much more difficulties than ever before. On the other hand, what you have will be much more independent and creative yourself and you will see the smile of the poor. It means that the have take over the burden of the have-not. That is why the GOD, whatever it is, gave you more talents than the have-not. Have the courage to sacrifice yourself, because you are the LEARNED. |
