I have no idea who he is and I get very curious about him. Actually, I suspect the writer of the excerpt below was somehow confused. Those at POSTECH may get relevant information by just looking up POSTECH brochure. He is a theoretical physicist with a Ph.D. from KAIST and studies knot theory 'in' physics.(This is kind of strange) Following is an excerpt from an article in the thread about Korean education system in 'Soc.culture.korean'. The poster of the article took a theoretical physicist at Postech as an example of a genius who got all education in Korea. >Since you asked for *one* example, if I understand the context correctly >(note I didn't read many earlier posts), you can say there is at least one >scientific genius I heard about quite a time ago. He is a physicist, a theo- >retical physicist (isn't he already qualified for the category?), and he >got his whole education in Korea, the final institution being KAIST. And >he is at POSTECH now , I think. And well, I once read he is pretty well known >for his theories which is something about knot theory in physics. Some >experts on this subject might be able to give more exact reference. Thanks in advance. werner |
