Splus , SAS have built in function calls. basically based on a certain minimizing creteria, it add 'terms' to the previous model and try to see if this improved movel is statistically meaningful. from a linear model without interaction terms to a model with interaction terms can be tested using above principle. pick up any regression analysis text book and look at the index and go to the page corresponding to the word 'interaction'. :) |
