I have created many tables with 4 layer hierarchy. If a row in the table of the top layer is to be deleted, all rows in subtables which have cascade- deleting constraints should be deleted as well. The problem is the management policy of Oracle RDBMS. It keeps track of the changes made in a rollback segment. Periodically, I delete old data in the database. The size of data can be huge. In that case, the Oracle RDBMS cann't extend its rollback segment and fails to perform my request. Does any body know how to overcome this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
