We were using the Francis Park book from Sogang Univ., but we switched to Myongdo's Korean Part I and Part II for the 2nd year level course. There is no 3rd year level Korean course yet, but there is an advanced 4th year level Korean with Hanja Chinese characters. I think they are using a Myongdo book for that but I am not sure because I have not taken 4th year level Korean, yet. I knew this white guy who took it and got an A+!!! He is awesome, he speaks just like a Korean ...I want to be like him. We don't have a degree in Korean language yet but Michigan is working to get one available. There is an estimated 1400 Koreans, Korean Americans, or mixed Koreans at Michigan. The Korean class usually has one or two non-Korean students....there was a Black girl studying Korean two years ago.... Yes, here too, the Japanese language course are very popular, and I am sad because the Japanese companies are offering scholarships to Engineering students who study 4 years of Japanese. If only the Korean companies would please start doing that for foreign students who are studying Korean!!!!!! Did you say you will be studying Korean in Seoul this summer?
