I have read with interest the recent postings by guest(1004) and the responses from simplew and sshong. Obviously guest(1004)'s view of life in America is based on his personal experiences and perceptions. I was pleased to hear him say that some Americans are genuinely nice people, but not all of them are nice. I believe that the same thing could easily be said about people all over the world. I urge guest(1004) to hang in there and become adaptable. I guess the same thing can be said to sshong, too. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." That's good advise for everyone and leads to an open mind. Simplew seems to speak with a voice of reason, but don't be too hard on guest(1004)'s harsh expression of feelings. There is one very real truth for anyone who has ever lived in another country. When you leave your home to live abroad, you will never be as comfortable.
