I was terribly busy today (trying to make an excuse...), but won't forget your request and will do my best. Please give me more time. By the way, when are you gonna leave for Seoul? If there is any clue for yours, I may ask the names of your friends. Again, let's see what we can do. This is J. Han who's a Korean cataloger/bibliographer at UCSD and also a part time student. Since you said you were a proffesor of linguistics, and I noticed you were aware of the McCune & Reischauer rule of Korean transliteration, I would like to hear of your opinion on the rule. Personally I feel this rule should get extinct; it shouldn't be the internationally recognized rule beause, not like Japanese (Hepben) and Chinese (Pin-Yin or Wade-Giles), it is *not* a "phonemic" transcription but "phonetic" one. What do you think? I'm sorry to hear about your Wife... Thank you and good luck! ----------------------------------------- Mountain is mountain, water is water. --------------------------------------- J jhan@ucsd.edu |
