I can use your knowledge of radio to illustrate why. Have you ever wanted to tune into one particular station when there were one or more other stations competing for the same spot on the dial? The result is a jumble of confusion. But if you reach that station when the others are temporarily off, you get it clearly, and your desire is gratified. In just the same way, if our thoughts or desires arise at just the instant when there are no conflicting thoughts present to nullify their power, the mind, instead of being divided among many thoughts, throws its great force behind that one desire.
