Where exactly is the place? Isn't 'half' an overstatement? I rarely see students who completely avoided it. They at least did bang-wi or equivalent. Myun-jae is very very rare. For past five years I have seen only a couple of students who somehow acquired the green card and avoided doing the service. I could be wrong but I don't think there are that many students who just skipped it. I see unusually high concentration of bang-wi though. This might be due to their poor eye sight which reulted from too much reading and studying. I heard James Joyce read too many books and lost his eye sight by the time he wrote Ulysses. So all of our friends who have poor eye sight might be half way through the process of becoming someone like him. BTW, I got 20/20 vision and did hyun-yuk. hehe. |
