Following is recomendation in taking time for each type of questions in verbal section from Barron's GRE. 6 Sentence completions 45 sec each 7 Analogies 45 sec each 9 Antonyms 30 sec each 8 Reading Comprehension 1 min each 2 200-word passages 1.5min each 500-word passage 3 min But it depends on individuals. In my case(I guess it is true for most Korean students) I need more time to read passage itself in reading comprehension problems and less time to answer each question. So I take about 5 minutes to read 500-word passage and compensate 2 minutes answering quickly those antonym problems and analogies. For analytical section ... for those puzzle-solving style you can reduce time with practice a lot. Get used to those type of questions solving more than one test everyday. For the argument analysis style you need more language skill reading skill. So read a lot. If you have plenty of time before your test, begin with things like TIME Scientific American... English Newspaper.. They help a lot. |
