We do have fully funded places for all types of candidates (UK, EU and overseas) and the opportunity to offer additional scholarships for well qualified UK/EU candidates. I am interested particularly in finding PhD students in the area of the specification and verification of concurrent systems. This includes the entire range from completely theoretical aspects, related to languages over infinite words and temporal logics, to the specification and analysis of practical systems/protocols. I also would be very happy to supervise PhD theses on the formal analysis of cryptographic protocols. In addition, I am working on security aspects of client-/server-systems in health care. In this area I am looking for a PhD student working on practical security problems of client-/server-architectures. This will include security aspects of Java applets/servlets.
