That's the best way to survive in the US these days. And you got already some skills in computer. That's really beneficial to study computer science related majors. Here in the US, there are still lots of people who have little knowlege about computer but study computer science to survive because, as you know, the field constantly need people who know recent computer skill which only can be obtained by recent graduates (not only maybe.. :)... ) If you study such as JAVA, network, etc, you will get tremendous offers from companies. So don't worry. And go for computer.
