| [ studyingabroad ] in KIDS 글 쓴 이(By): Robin (@SHY!!) 날 짜 (Date): 1996년04월12일(금) 09시59분49초 KST 제 목(Title): [RE]질문]MBA 에 대부분의 Business School 에서는 직장경력을 요구합니다. 최소 3년 정도를 요구하지요. 하지만 Academic Achievements 가 특출나게 뛰어난 사람이라면 직장 경력이 없더라도 Admission 을 주는 경우가 있습니다. 여기서 Academic Achievements 라는 것은 그 사람이 Business School 에서 수학할 수 있는 능력을 나타내는 척도라고 할 수 있는데, 대표적으로는 '탁월한 GMAT 성적', '우수한 GPA', '주목할 만한 leadership activity' 등이 있습니다. 이런 것중 GMAT 이나 GPA (외국인이라면 우수한 TOEFL 은 필수) 등의 수치는 정량화되어 나타나기 때문에 달리 신경쓸 수 없는 부분이고, 그 이외에 자신을 홍보할 수 있는 '특이한 점'이 있다면 Essay 나 Resume 를 통해 적극적으로 표현하는 것이 매우 중요합니다. Business School 에서 Admission 부여시에 고려하는 가장 중요한 요인중 하나는 'Diversity in Class' 이기 때문에 어떤 한가지 조건 (예를 들어 '직장경력')이 절대적인 잣대로 활용되지는 않습니다. '직장경력이 없는 fresh(?) 한 우수한 학부 졸업생'도 Class Diversity 에 도움이 된다고 판단되면 Admission 을 줄 수 있거든요. 또 한가지 전략으로는 General Manager의 양성을 주목표로 삼는 곳이 아닌 특정 경영 분야의 전문가 양성에 주력하는 Business School 을 목표로 지원하는 것도 가능합니다. 이런 곳은 상대적으로 직장경력을 그리 중시하지 않을 수도 있습니다. 대표적인 곳으로는 Chicago 나 UPEN 을 들 수 있습니다.
