I tried to mean what is the trigger for the realization of life from an apparent inorganic body, seed or egg. From my poor understanding of biology, I couldn't understand why biologists cannot make a life even though they are now proud of their understanding of life. To my knowledge (just high-school text book and Korean-translated journalism), biologists are good at finding ingredients of a life and making conjectures on their functionings in a life. According to previous several articles, seemed to be written by biologists, I was totally ignorant of recent progress of biology which had already overcome its difficulties, i.e., everything will be okay and just look at it, then we can understand life. Is it really so? After all these, I became really curious about its mechanism. We know how semiconductors react and we can make them and then make a this wonderful(terrible?) internet life (of course with the help of other paradigm-making technologies). What are different in life? Biologists say they understand all proteins, DNAs, RNAs, hormones (is it a kind of protein? I forgot what I learned in high school), enzymes (same question as in hormone), vitamines, and too many things, and why they are necessary in life, even how they function. But they cannot make even a simplest life form from the ingredients. What the hell science is it? Or, not yet enough to know all the ingredients? If my understanding is wrong, please let me know, or should I read a biological text beyond the high-school level? I'm about to buy one, please recommend any good text on molecular biology. If it contains experimental details, that's the best. |
