They say "come to military board" but still keep barking at anonymous board...:) I haven't wrote anything in that thread but it is quite interesting one. Even without nuclear arsenal nuclear-powered submarine can prove a formidable weapon to enemy's fleet, I guess. If we can (and have to) choose between nuclear submarine and nuclear weapon (ie A-bomb or H-bomb) I think the submarine would be more realistic choice. Not that I ignore the strategic edge that nuclear weapon would give to us, it just doesn't seem to be cost-effective enough (as well as monetary cost, there are also intangibles like diplomatic relations, etc).
