I do not have a strong objection against the statement that "we see more females than males be invovled in activities related to religious in Korea." (Let's just accept rather loose definitions of 'activity, religious.') I hope I can see some hard data on this topic some day. #2. I also think that not many mature people believe that the difference of behavior patterns related to religion between genders is due to innate nature. But, plese refer to the last paragraph of Mr. pictor's prior posting on this topic. I suspect that Mr. pictor to have such a belief (the difference is innate), to say the least of it, when the gentleman was writing the posting. My understanding of the word 'BonNenug' in Hangul implies 'innate'. And I would like to remind you that I was addressing my prior posting to Mr. pictor as you see in the first line of my prior posting. #3 Is being religious bad? This is a question that is rather hard for me to answer and I would rather keep it in my questions list. Also, I would rather use words 'desirable/undesirable' or 'useful/less useful/harmful' rather than 'bad/godd' when I have questions like this. One thing I can tell you is that the difference of behavioral patterns between genders related to religion reflects one undesirable aspect of our society (one aspect that we can improve so that our society can be closer to what we currently believe to be better.) I believe that more human beings should have more control of their lives regardless of their gender. |
