A study conducted by Netroscope of Santa Clara, Calif., found that "more than 50 percent of the enterprises, across all vertical segments, believe that Java is not ready to play a significant role in the enterprise," according to a press release from the company. "This report looks heavily into Java's potential in the enterprise and will help corporations evaluate high-risk Java investments that could significantly impact their entire application strategy," said Natalie Shaheen, founder and president of Netroscope, in the statement. The study identified four main factors hampering the rate of adoption of Java: absence of Java in performance-intensive applications for the enterprise Java fragmentation among major vendors lack of a clear Java product strategy and roadmap lack of industry-wide Java standards. The report examined the overall state of Java adoption in industry, the status of Java enterprise solutions and products, and the impact of Java's fragmentation on customers and vendors, according to Netroscope. The company describes itself as a "cyber-centric market research and consulting" firm. |
