I thought that airbags should always be factory-nstalled because of safety reasons. Airbags should be 100% trouble free. They should be deployed when necessary, but should be under the cover of the steering wheel otherwise. since the performance of an airbag has a lot of things to do with sensors that determines the right moment, it makes a perfect sense that the manufacturer who understands the stucture of a car 100% shuld place sensors at the best locations. Also, if malfunction of any kind should occur, the manufacturere are to be blamed. I wonder if a local shop would be willing to or has capabilities to take the responsibility. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I would have airbags installed by the manufacturer. but, ABS seems to be ok to be installed by after-marketer. maybe not. Mr. yshong, if I understand your postings right, please make sure the local shop are licensed to do the job and airbags are properly installed. Drive safely! :) Acura NSX...simply the BEST... |
