Therefore,like our body, intakes of enough air increases the efficiency of the fuel. Final law: three step logic more air ----> better efficiency------> more power In practical use, 4 valve per cylinder engine produces more than 25% of horse power than ordinary 2 valve per cylinder engine. but there also is several shortcomings: 1. annoying noise in high rpm,say more than 3000rmp. (In my experience, 30 minutes highway drive made my ear painful.) 2. complicated structure raises maintance cost. (U have to use better oil and short oil change period,higher risk of abnormal engine noise and repair in used cars ) 3. more expensive 4. more gas expense due to more exciting drive. another tip : Turbo engine and super charged engine intakes more dense air by driving turbin or motor.
