Another Korean maker set to hit Australian markets The much-rumored arrival of another Korean maker on to the Australian new vehicle market moved even closer with the appearance of a right-hand-drive Ssangyong Musso at the British Motor Show last month. This cheap, big( Musso means Rhino) 4WD wagon runs a five-cylinder Mercedes-Benz commercial diesel and will soon get the 3.2-litre 24-valve six petrol engine from the Benz sedans. The Musso was styled by a British designer and is built under licence from Mercedes - there's even been talk that Mercedes-Benz Australia might retail it through its local dealer network. Hyundai, of course, led the Korean assault here, with Daewoo arriving a couple of months back and Kia still trying to make up its mind when and how to come in with its range, which includes the Sportage, done in the same soft 4WD theme as Toyota's RAV-4. from THE AGE(10/NOV.)
