The problem is the red " check engine " light lits up about 5 minutes after I started driving. So I ran the diagnostics according to the manual. I mean the MPI diagnstics using voltmeter. The signal picked up indicated that "MPS"(Motor Position sensor" is bad. I called up the dealer and they say the new part is $122. I think it's ridiculous to pay $122(=100,000 won) for a part but if I can confirm that that's the part which is bad in an independet way, say measuring resistance or something like that, I will pay $122 to fix it. Does anybody know how to test the MPS? What would be the possible problem if I don't fix it? From this and another incident I got the impression that Hyundai sells low on a new car but they charge a lot for parts. What do you think about that? I really appreciate your comments and replies. Thnaks in advance. |
