I'm not sure which platform you use, but it says "*The HP-UX, IRIX, Sun Solaris, and SunOS versions of Netscape Navigator 2.0b2 include Java support." So I guess your problem is that your platform is not one of them, or your version is beta1. I myself could see nice presentation of Java applets on HP.
