I 100% guarantee you will really love (Southern) California. Regarding your trip during weekend, please don't stick only to San Diego. It is also worth while having sightseeing in many famous areas in California and its neighboring states. Of course, you will have lots of fun in that city, which is also very close to Mexico. Let me give you some points of interest in California: 1. San Diego - See World, San Diego Zoo, etc. 2. You can also get to Tijuana in Mexico by car or bus. No need to have visa in entering Mexico! 3. Anaheim - Anaheim Angels Stadium, Disney Land 4. Los Angeles - lots of places!! Dodgers Stadium, Santa Monica Beach, Rodeo Dr. Hollywood, Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, Great Western Forum, Caltech, USC, UCLA 5. Palm Springs 6. Solvang - this village is very beautiful Dutch town. 7. San Fransisco - also many places to stop by San Fransisco Giants Stadium, Bay Area (Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, San Mateo Bridge, and three more bridges) Stanford University and its shopping center, UC Berkely, Chinatown, etc. 8. Yosemite - needless to say, this area is COOL! 9. Death Valley - Don't go there in summer. It is extremely hot there! 10. Las Vegas 11. Hoover dam 12. Grand Canyon In addition to those places, there are some more good places to visit. However, since you have limited time of your stay in San Diego, I highly recommend you to visit at least the places listed above. Also, you don't have to worry about driving in the U.S., you can really safely enjoy driving in the U.S. Since I am a member of "AAA", I have very detailed information on every place listed above including lodging, map, etc. If you don't mind, please talk to me at (310) 825-4090. Or, you could write to me at dspark@icsl.ucla.edu. As a Korean, I am willing to help you learn about U.S.A. Plus, don't forget to buy camera/camcoder film in Korea because of relatively high price of those items in U.S.A. Hope this helps. Cheers, Demisoda P.S. I am a baseball mania. When Chan-Ho Park starts the game in Los Angeles, I definitely try to go to Dodgers Stadium. |
