I guess I might be in the same boat as yours soon. I am planning to file I-130, I-485, etc in a couple weeks in NYC. (BTW, did you file it at the INS local district office in NYC or Vermont Service Center?) Some people say you can do this without an immigration attorney's help, and some say it definitely helps to hire one. I wonder what you did with your case... As for me, I'm still debating if I should ask for help or not. bbmania-nim, would you mind if I ask you how long it took to get the notice from INS that they filed your case after you sent the application? (Not the receipt, but the notice of their action. I'm sorry I don't know the exact term they use... ) Also, I am filing I-765 for work permit as well. Do you have any experience dealing with this, too?
