I assume the problem to solve here is to find a specified (but unknown) number x in Z. If there is a guarantee that x exists, the problem can be solved in finite time. For simplicity, assume that x is positive. Procedure A works like this. It first checks if 1 is the specified number (with some checking procedure). If 1 is not then check 2, and so on until you find x. ANSWER THIS QUESTION: Does procedure A stop or not?
