( i admit that i posted a river crossing problem recently. ^^ ). Is there any body willing to catalogue puzzles posted in QUIZ board as in FAQ format? From now on whoever post marble problems should expect that his two very important marbles will be taken out of his body. ^^ Here is my PUZZLE. ( I don't usually post puzzles which I didn't create. ^^) Consider a region bounded by two curves y=x^2, y^2=x. When such region is rotated around x=1 it has a volume V1. When such region is rotated around x=0it has a volume V0. Do we have V0 = V1 or V0 <> V1. Prove or disprove without using ANY integration. Finding V1 was one of the midterm problem in my calculus course and one very clever student pointed me out....
