I don't think it really makes any difference, If the friend somehow realized it was wrong, he could convert the decimal number into an octal representation, then take it as a binary number. Isn't it just straightforward? In case what you really ask is how he can figure out whether it is wrong or not, I don't think it is possible for him to, just by looking at the decimal number given to him. |
