If you run Mathematica 2.0 for Windows in Win3.1 system you need at least 4MB ram and 20MB or less of hard drive space for Kernel loading. To run in very fast you need 8MB RAM at least. I would recommand 16MB RAM and 486DX 33Mhz or faster. I have 200MB hard drive but not much free space , so I couldn't even upload the Kernel. Consequently, I use MathCad 2.2 for windows for simple calculation like yours. MathCad2.2 supports Maple V symbolic language and far easier to use for simple calculation.. Anyway, I feel that that you need to increase your virtual memory for windows if you happen to be using Windows Operation System. Otherwise, sorry no help. But if you run Mathematica in UNIX I am very positive that the program would require huge resource. |
