As I know, a new V series standard was announced couple of months ago and you can download program that converts X2 or FLEX to V series standard. (In fact, the modem itself is programmable so that it can adopt new quantization algorithm..) For the telephone signal, telephone lines are bandlimited. Your upcoming signal to local telephone office is sampled and digitized into bandlimited digital signal, routed via switch, and converted to analog signal at down path to your phone line.. As I know, there is a special equipment at local telephone office that handles ISP data lines so that you can bypass the bandlimiting D/A and A/D processing. I hope it helps you out.. |
