Experience with Perl and double-byte character sets helpful. The programmer will work with linguists and acoustic scientists to design tools for automatically cleaning and filtering Korean text data according to various formal criteria, to create scripts for recording speech data. Ability to work onsite preferred, but offsite work is also possible after a short training period. Estimated time of contract: 20 hrs, at $25/hr. Possible additional work as the project -- creating a Korean voice recognition system -- develops.
