It is because that QT license is still incompatible with GPL (many of KDE sources are released under GPL not LGPL) and that's why Red Hat and Debian pulled back their endorsement for KDE. So the bottom line is, unless TrollTech changes the license on QT to be compatible with GPL (which is only GPL) or KDE is released under LGPL (with unanimous consents from all the contributors) it is very hard to expect the merge. |
