Let's see... Biology (needless to say), astronomy, geology (to consider the condition of ancient Martian surface), astrophysics (interstellar cloud is full of organic materials!), chemistry, electronics (how are you going to send a spaceship to Mars without electronics?), blah blah... Or, if we sample a few smaller subfields... fault-tolerant systems, self-replicating molecules, hyperthermophile bacteria, infrared astronomy...... I mean, it's diverse! It is not just an easy bait for children. The fact that such a question can be raised and *researched* in this modern world is a hallmark of mankind's scientific achievement. |
