Basically if the sample size is small - which is the case in many brain imaging studies, when you apply the battery of statistical inference procedures, you get different results. so extream caustion should be taken for small sample size - this thing happens if you know enough statistics but not exactly an expert. so please consult your local applied statistians. Probably there is EPS and it can be verified using fMRI, but without seeing at with minimum 100 samples, no one will take it seriously. Probably you can find a couple of EPS mutants. Then the brain is not like an electronic wiring. so that doesn't mean much except those guys are mutants. - they can go to Professor Xavier's school. :) fMRI responses are different from person to person. If the pattern is consistnat, you begin to see it when you average the time series of fMRI for 10-20 subjects. But statistical quantification is a completely different matter. I would like to actually read the paper. Let me know if they have atually published. iLUSiON whitepolarcow@hotmail.com |
