| From : dool (Doolee) Date : Thu Apr 23 13:17:18 1992 Subject: saytime The other night I was working on an Apollo station in the lab, of course, several windows opened, one of them telneted to my prof's Sun Sparc station (named bambam). In any case, I was hopping around the net looking for some utility program I needed. At one site, i found a program named saytime. Since the name was so cute, just ftped, compiled, and run it. But, strangely coundn't see any effect. what was wrong? In couple of minutes, there was a beep and a message from my prof saying: "Did you do something on bambam? All of sudden, there came a husky human voice from my machine telling the time. And I was scared to death......" oops. I realized that I was runing that program on bambam, not on my machine. It was around 11:00 PM. -dool, missing half of doolee :-) |
