I got a program which romanizes Korean on line from KAIST today, so I can read Korean characters now. Thank you for those who wrote the program. As I guessed, your posting was about my postings. First of all, I want to tell you that I'm not upset at all about your posting. But there are some points I want to discuss with you (and other subscribers of Fun bboard). You said a humor should reflect social situation for it to be meaningful. (I'm sorry if my translation is clumsy.) First, did you really mean it when you said that? Don't you think there are humors and jokes which are funny even though they don't have anything to do with social situation? I know a lot of funny jokes about "IbKeun GaiGuRi" or "ChamSai" (that's what I see when I use the program I mentioned above, isn't it great?), and I don't think they necessarily reflect social situation. In fact, I guess you enjoyed the jokes I posted, didn't you? You may say that some users may feel offended by postings in English. I agree with you on this point. I have two excuses on it. First, I'm not in Korea now and I cannot write Korean with the computer I use. I could not even read the postings in Korean before today. If every user of kids should use Korean, I could not post anything on the bboard. Don't you think it will alienate Koreans in foreign countries who are interested in kids? Second, I believe that there are people who find the jokes funny even though they are in English. Even you said "JaiMiIxGe IlgGo DdanSoRil HaNeun Haneul...", didn't you? I want to say more about your posting. But this is "Fun" bboard and people may find this "Boring" instead.
