It's been 50 years since the nuclear bombs were dropped in Japan. There is a debate going on about whether the dropping of the nuclear bombs were justified or not. I will voice my opinion about the matter and ask others to do the same. I do not believe the use of nuclear bombs can be justified, especially against civilians as it was done in 1945. But, I also believe that Japan should shoulder most of the criticism, not the U.S. Japan effectively forced the decision on the U.S. All that we can expect from anyone or any country is rationality. Japan made the use of the bomb the only rational decision the Americans could make. A nation cannot be expected to let up to million of its soldiers to be killed - as it would have been had there been a conventional invasion of Japan - when it can end the war by killing only its enemies. Remember that Japan was the one who invaded U.S. The use of nuclear bombs should be blamed on Japan, not U.S. The Japanese government should apologize to the world about the use of nuclear bombs. About the victims of the bomb... I do not believe the Japanese people who were killed by the bombing should be characterized as "victims." It is unfortunate that many Japanese civilians were killed but They are not victims. They are the ones who brought about the catastrophe. They should have rebelled against their criminal government. They did not do so. But not the forced Korean laborers took no part in the decision to go to war against U.S. They were forced almost as slaves to work in Japan. More than 20000 Korean workers were killed by the nuclear bombs. They are the real victims. |
