Since then it has been one of my favorite poems. there are particularly two people to whom i dearly want to give this because of who they are and because of the kind of conversation i had with them. they have been inspiration to my fledgling 'creative works' and a source of grief as i shared with them my problems and theirs. in a way the two people are accurate examples of human nature; they may even be the two sides of a coin. the dichotomy of their natures --earnestness and hopelessness -- is an intrinsic value of how it is to be a human, i believe. furthermore, they represent the status of humans before and after the Salvation in more ways than one. this distinction is separated by a hair-thin line that is also as distinguishable as a goat to a sheep. some of us will understand this paradox( and the simile, too?) because we know what put us into a different status is both invisible and ubiquitous. someday, i like to meet them face to face and stare into their souls, but it has been an blessing in itself to converse with them. at this point you may wonder who these people are. well, all i can tell you is that it is not you because the two people know who they are to me. :) alpha MAKING LIFE WORTH WHILE May every soul that touches mine -- Be it the slightest contact -- Get therefrom some good; Some little grace; one kindly thought; One aspiration yet unfelt; One bit of courage For the darkening sky; One gleam of faith To brave the thickening ills of life; One glimpse of brighter sky Beyond the gathering mists -- To make this life worth while And heaven a surer heritage GEORGE ELIOT luke the 'yoo hooo~~~~ man' don't try to make anything more out of life than the winner of 93 mu contest what you expect of yourself. for supplemental dept. of nuke engineering reading ==> Jeremiah 9:23-25 and habakkuk 3:17-18 texas a&m university <<ab ovo usque ad mala, ad majorem Dei gloriam>> |
