With a couple of weeks of going to bed at 5AM, I have mastered all Q and A's and user reports and raitings at www.dcinside.com about the models I am interested in, seen tons of photos taken by the models, visited major digicam review sites in USA and internet retailers to see their price offers. I can proudly (and also ashamedly) call myself "디씨 폐인". I never understood how my friends became such experts on a list of graphic card spec, memory spec, motherboard spec, when all they can do is to assemble a computer about once a year. Now I know the answer: You just have some need to buy a thing and pick up an interest and search the internet. Yet, I can't decide which one to buy. My interest has grown up from Canon's s200, sony's dsc P2 just because they are cute and small into Olympus C700 for its super zoom yet into Canon's s30 for its size and the color yet into Olympus C4040 for its super bright lens and into Canon's G2. I came to love the photo's taken with Canon Camera. The images are crisp, colors are vivid and full of life, so picturesque. I feel happy when I see those photo's. The colors might not be faithful to reality but then I love that exaggeration. The downside is, Canon produces less desirable tone in portrait: It is said people's skin tone becomes rather reddish and I've seen the examples in sample photo's. All my friends have Olympus cameras, as it is known for producing the best result in portrait; They have made a safe and wise choice. I could've put my question in "photo" board in kids and asked for advice. But what's the use?: My question is already a bestselling question in www.dcinside.com having been posted tens of times and I memorize the answer. Q : Should I go for Olympus C4040 or for Canon G2? A : If you love Canon's characteristic colors and image quality, and if you are seriously interested in photography, you may go for Canon G2. If you are mostly interested in taking pictures of people, Olympus C4040 could be a better choice. Both are wonderful cameras and they deserve much more than auto-mode snap-shot purpose. So, I guess, it is time to make a decision. Yet, without ever using them in advance, it is a diffcult choice as all serious purchases are. The good thing is, I can't afford spending any more week of sleepless nights, which will destroy my daily life. Well, I can't help making a few apologetic remarks for those who have read my stupid story so far. You must be a very patient and nice reader or you must be checking this English board everyday and have found finally somebody posted something after a few weeks of break and have read through.
